Pre-admission / Symptomatic patients should be referred by their healthcare practitioner and present at the COVID testing facility with their ID and a completed request form.
Patients requiring COVID-19 testing for pre-admission, are encouraged to contact the Pathcare branch at the Hospital of their admission.

Patients using medical aid: If your medical aid covers COVID -19 testing, we will submit the claim on your behalf. Please Note: You are required to establish if testing is covered by your medical scheme.

Results will be available within 48 hours and will be forwarded to you via sms. Please wait for your doctor to contact you.

PATHCARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE SARS-COV-2 TESTING FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL PURPOSES

The current increase in COVID cases in the Western Cape is so great that all our testing must be reserved for patients.  Our capacity to make testing available to travellers has been exceeded.
With immediate effect we cannot provide SARS-CoV-2 testing for international travel purposes.

In the following areas we cannot accept any additional travelers for testing:
Cape Town Northern & Southern Suburbs
Central West Coast
Somerset West
Paarl
Hermanus
Worcester

 

Travellers testing positive for COVID-19 are presumably asymptomatic. While false positive COVID-19 PCR tests do occur, false negative tests are frequently seen, especially in asymptomatic patients. Subsequent tests may prove negative depending on a range of factors including but not limited to the shedding rate of the virus, immune response and sample quality. Drs Dietrich, Voigt, Mia & Partners takes no responsibility for ANY claims of whatsoever nature or any consequential losses relating to test results falling within the aforementioned category.

Please Note: We cannot guarantee travellers a result faster than 48 hours , due to the current surge in COVID cases. Travellers must present for the COVID-19 traveller test, NO MORE THAN 72 hours before departure time. BUT NOT LATER THAN 56 hours before the departure time to ensure timeous receipt of results.

CORPORATE CLIENTS

CORPORATE CLIENTS (Where your employer is the guarantor for the test) are required to present with a completed, official company request form, for corporate account payment. Should your company not have the corporate request form or account with Pathcare, please ask your employer to contact specialops.covid@pathcare.co.za. Alternatively, contact your private healthcare practitioner for referral and then payment will be required at the Pathcare branch. 

 Your company will be billed for the testing, provided we received the official company referral form with their corporate code as the referring doctor/company. No payment required from you at the depot. Please Note: WCA referrals are either required to make payment upfront or via company corporate account. Pathcare is unable to assist with WCA claims.

Results will be available within 48 hours and will be forwarded to you via SMS as well as a copy of the result sent to your employer (company representative).
